I painted a large scale map of present day Baghdad onto the gallery wall. The map marked fatalities as reported by the New York Times of both US Soldiers and Iraqi civilians. The project intent was to question what we comprehend as ‘real’ lived personal experiences of a war being fought remotely for unclear reasons.
